Comparing nursery fees in Ajman is harder than it should be. Two nurseries can quote what looks like the same number and yet cost very different amounts across a year, because what sits inside the fee varies enormously.

What the headline fee usually includes

In most Ajman nurseries, the advertised termly or annual fee covers the core programme: qualified staff, the curriculum, classroom materials, and the daily routine. That is the part everyone quotes.

What is often charged separately

This is where real differences appear:

• Registration and assessment fees, usually one-off
• Transport, if you need a nursery bus
• Meals and snacks, sometimes optional, sometimes compulsory
• Uniform and stationery
• Extracurricular activities such as swimming, music or martial arts
• Holiday or summer camp provision

Ask for the full annual figure including everything you are likely to use. A nursery quoting a higher base fee with activities included can easily be cheaper overall than one quoting low and charging per activity.

The questions that reveal true value

What is the staff-to-child ratio in my child's specific age group? Ratios drive quality more than facilities do, and they are the single biggest cost in running a nursery. A very low fee usually means a higher ratio somewhere.

Are teachers qualified in early years specifically? Early childhood is a specialism, not a general teaching skill.

Is the curriculum a recognised framework? The British EYFS framework, for example, gives you a structured way to see whether your child is progressing.

What is the refund policy if we relocate? Families in the UAE move more often than average and this clause matters.

Paying termly versus annually

Most nurseries in Ajman offer a discount for paying a full year upfront. That is worth taking only if you are confident about staying — read the withdrawal terms first, because annual discounts often come with tighter refund conditions.

Value is not the same as price

The cheapest nursery in Ajman is rarely the best value, and the most expensive is not automatically the best either. What you are really buying is the number of warm, qualified adults in the room, the quality of the daily routine, and how well the nursery communicates with you.

Visit in person, at a normal time of day, and watch how staff speak to the children. That tells you more than any fee sheet.
